Challenge

Estate entrance was cumbersome with a complicated arbor, multi-levels of aged and weathered flagstone, and posts that blocked the natural pathway from the gate to the house.

AFTER

Solution

Build a new one-level patio and add extra stairs to compensate for the slope and the directional flow from the gate to the pathway. Simplify the arbor, reduce number of posts, add a curve to the staircase, age the new flagstone with custom effects to blend with the older stone, and create a Sonoma stone edging to balance out the water feature on the other side of the walkway. Install two Redwood benches milled from a former tree on the property.
